POLICIESAt Studio D, we feel that structure is a key element in providing a healthy environment for kids to express themselves. These policies were instituted for the safety and enjoyment of the students, parents and staff of Studio D. Please take time to carefully read these and communicate them to your child so they can adhere to them. At all times, the most important things to remember at Studio D are courtesy, respect, and love.A clear dress code is outlined for each class in this document. Students are expected to follow the dress code and if they are not in accordance with it, he or she may be asked to observe the class instead of dancing. Please make sure you child has eaten prior to class and is properly hydrated so he or she can maintain a healthy energy level. For class students should bring:

All shoes and dancewear should be marked on the inside with your child's first and last name. Each student is responsible for personal belongings. Students should arrive five minutes prior to their class time and wait until the door is open before entering their studio. The instructor will open the door, thus signaling to the students that they may enter. Please do not open the doors until the instructor is ready. Once the student arrives, they should proceed directly into their studio with everything he or she needs for class. There are hooks for coats and bags and baskets for hats and gloves in the studios. Students should change their shoes in the studio. No dance shoes should ever be worn outside the studio. In the winter, boot trays will be provided in the front lobby. Students should remove their boots and proceed directly into their studio to put on their dance shoes. Please be respectful to the staff of Studio and ensure your child does not arrive too early and that he or she is picked up on time. Please have your child wait inside the studio until you have arrived to pick them up. If your child is under the age of eight, a parent or guardian must come inside to get the child. This is to ensure their safety. You may park in front, in back, or along the side of the south side of the building. Please ensure there is plenty of room for a car to pass if you do park on the side.
TechnologyStudio D has free wireless interest access for students to use for homework and parents to enjoy. Please be considerate and do not stream media or download large files. The network is StudioD and the password is danceforever.No cell phones or texting permitted in the studios during class. Enrollment anD PAYMENTSince Studio D is a cumulative academy of dance, our curriculum uses each weekly class to build on technique, skill, and choreography, therefore it is not a drop-in program. Enrollment is a for the entire semester and tuition is based on the entire semester, regardless of your payment term. We offer a monthly payment term as a courtesy, not as monthly tuition pricing. Classes are weekly and based on a minimum of 14 fall/16 spring classes per semester, this includes holidays and weather closings. If the number of classes per semester falls below this minimum, there will be a make-up option.Payment Terms
A declined card will be charged a $25 fee. You will be notified after the first instance and it is the customer’s responsibility to provide a valid card through the online customer portal. If your payment information on file is not updated and your account is more than 15 days past due your child will be asked to observe class instead of dancing. Performance or recital tickets will not be distributed until your account is current. Tuition is non-refundable. There are no refunds given for missed classes, due to bad weather or other student absences. Unfortunately, some classes fall on holidays or breaks. There is NO refund for these classes and classes are not rescheduled. If a student does not wish to continue classes, no refund will be given after 14 days and termination fees will be assessed. EventsEffective June 1, 2011, there is a per child price increase for field trips and we require a 50% deposit to hold the date for all events and the balance is due the day of the event.WITHDRAWALOnce a student has enrolled, to withdraw from class, cancellations must be made in writing by either email to info@studioDdance.com, or postal mail to Studio D, 2691 30th Street, Suite A, Boulder, CO 80301. If an existing student returns to class the next semester, it is assumed that they are enrolling in that semester per our cancellation policy.A sliding scale for low-income families is available and will be determined on a case-by-case basis. The Studio D Academy of Dance, LLC website is the primary vehicle for Studio D Academy of Dance, LLC information. It is the customer's responsibility to register for and use the customer portal on the website and to completely and accurately provide and maintain any information necessary. Studio D will not share your information with outside parties. By using the customer portal, you agree to all Studio D policies. You accept the Studio D facility as is. Studio D Academy of Dance, LLC reserves the right to make any changes, cancellations, or modifications to any schedule or operation. AttendanceSince Studio D is a cumulative academy of dance, attendance is required to build skill, technique and so students can advance their dance education. Attendance is tracked and progress reports are issued. Please make every effort to have your child at every class. Any student with more than four absences in the four months prior to a performance will not be allowed to participate in the performance.Make-Up Classes/Studio ClosingsAbsences should be submitted in writing by email to info@studioDdance.com in order to be eligible for make-up classes. Make-up classes will be allowed if scheduled within one week of the absence. Make-ups must be completed within the same semester in a class of equal or lesser value. If a student makes up more classes than absences, the fee for the greater cost class will be assessed. Some classes may not have a make-up option since there are no other classes of that type. If the student is absent, the parent acknowledges that no refund will be provided. Studio C does not carry medical insurance for dancers. We will ask you to provide this information in the student’s profile in case of emergency.CommunicationParental communication is paramount at Studio D which is why we have we have adopted the latest technologies so parents can be kept informed in real-time. The primary and official place for any Studio D updates, news, or changes is the website. The main form of communication is email. Just as it is Studio D’s responsibility to update, maintain and ensure the accuracy of information presented, it is your responsibility to provide accurate information and to stay informed. At the time of registration, parent’s will be asked to complete a family profile and a student profile which contains all necessary information for Studio D to take good care of your child including contact information, insurance information, allergies, school information and more. Please help us by completing this information thoroughly and maintaining its accuracy. It is your responsibility to keep your profile current and to be aware of studio policies and announcements. We do not share information provided with outside parties.If a problem or concern arises, please contact the studio so it can be addressed. Without feedback we have no way of knowing how we are performing. So please use our feedback form on the website. Lost and FoundThere is a lost and found box at the end of the hallway. If something is left at the studio, it will be put in the lost and found box.
