POLICIES

At Studio D, we feel that structure is a key element in providing a healthy environment for kids to express themselves.  These policies were instituted for the safety and enjoyment of the students, parents and staff of Studio D.  Please take time to carefully read these and communicate them to your child so they can adhere to them.  At all times, the most important things to remember at Studio D are courtesy, respect, and love.

A clear dress code is outlined for each class in this document.  Students are expected to follow the dress code and if they are not in accordance with it, he or she may be asked to observe the class instead of dancing.

Please make sure you child has eaten prior to class and is properly hydrated so he or she can maintain a healthy energy level.

For class students should bring:
  • A respectful attitude
  • A dance bag with the necessary shoes for class
  • A small towel
  • A filled water bottle with a lid

For class students should wear:
  • Required dancewear and cover up clothing
  • Street shoes on the way in and out of the studio
  • Hair neatly tied back and up off the neck.  A ponytail, French braid, or buns are great options.
  • No jewelry (studded earrings excepted)

All shoes and dancewear should be marked on the inside with your child's first and last name.  Each student is responsible for personal belongings.

Students should arrive five minutes prior to their class time and wait until the door is open before entering their studio.  The instructor will open the door, thus signaling to the students that they may enter. Please do not open the doors until the instructor is ready.

Once the student arrives, they should proceed directly into their studio with everything he or she needs for class.  There are hooks for coats and bags and baskets for hats and gloves in the studios.  Students should change their shoes in the studio.  No dance shoes should ever be worn outside the studio.  In the winter, boot trays will be provided in the front lobby.  Students should remove their boots and proceed directly into their studio to put on their dance shoes.
Please be respectful to the staff of Studio and ensure your child does not arrive too early and that he or she is picked up on time.

Please have your child wait inside the studio until you have arrived to pick them up. If your child is under the age of eight, a parent or guardian must come inside to get the child. This is to ensure their safety.

You may park in front, in back, or along the side of the south side of the building.  Please ensure there is plenty of room for a car to pass if you do park on the side.
